Therapeutic Massage / Deep Tissue Massage
Massage is a manual manipulation of the body's soft tissue for the purpose of stimulating circulation and promoting relaxation. It has been used in many world cultures for more than 4,000 years. Massage allows you a quiet time to focus on yourself and become more connected to your body. Massage is generally used for the reduction of stress and pain. It has been shown to boost the immune system as well. Since most diseases are exacerbated by stress, massage can help you become and stay healthier.
I am now a member of the Landmark Health Care Network. Certain insurances are now reimbursing for massage. Please contact me to see if your insurance participates.
Hot Stone Massage
Hot Stone Massage is the use of hot, warm or cool stones in combination with hands on therapeutic massage. The use of warm stones prepare the body for deeper work. The stones are used in a way that they become an extension of the therapists hands. Depending on the shape of the stone, the use and effect will be different. Stone Therapy can be incorporated into any type of massage, from Reiki, Aroma Therapy, Deep Tissue Massage or Sports Massage to name a few. The typical expression people use after having a stone massage is that they feel “grounded.” For others, it brings a deep tissue release and alignment of the body, mind, and soul, a feeling of all their worries melting away.
Shiatsu
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of bodywork. The word shiatsu means "finger pressure", and shiatsu is sometimes described as a finger pressure massage.
The shiatsu therapist applies pressure using his or her fingers, thumbs, and/or palms in a continuous rhythmic sequence. The pressure feels more localized, because unlike other types of massage, the finger pads are used to apply pressure for most of the treatment instead of the entire palm.
Certain pressure points may feel tender, which some people describe it as "good pain." Most people say shiatsu is as relaxing as a classic forms of massage therapy.
Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results
Pregnancy Massage
Pregnancy massage has been found to reduce stress, decrease swelling in the arms and legs, and relieve aches and pains in muscles and joints. It's a popular complementary therapy during pregnancy for back pain, when choices for pain relief, such as medication, are often limited. Not only can massage be physically beneficial, but the human touch can be comforting and provide emotional support during pregnancy. Massage therapy has been found to reduce anxiety and depression.
Reflexology
Reflexology is an ancient healing art for todays stresses. It is the gentle application of pressure to specific points on the foot. We have over 7,000 nerve endings on the bottom of our feet, making them quite sensitive and responsive to the sensory input of reflexology. It is important to understand that reflexology approaches the body as a whole, with inter-related systems.

Cancellation Policy
Please understand that your time commitment begins at the moment you reserve a massage. In order to make it fair for everyone, please consider your schedule carefully and don't commit to a time that you feel may be questionable. There are times when a cancellation is, of course, necessary. Please give advanced notice whenever possible. Missed or canceled appointments (medical emergencies excluded) without twenty-four (24) hour notice will be charged in full for the missed session.
No-shows
Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show.” They will be charged for their “missed” appointment.
Late Arrivals
If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, I will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session. Out of respect and consideration to me, your therapist, and other customers, please plan accordingly and be on time.
I look forward to serving you!
